Search Engine Optimisation
How your website indexes on Google, Yahoo and MSN is critical to your business. If done right then a high search engine position can be achieved and by working that position well will reward you countless times over.
Search engine optimisation is all about two main factors – site content (on page SEO) and incoming links from relevant sites (off page SEO).
As part of the design process I try to make the best use of modern SEO coding techniques, for example the Title tag and Description tag (this governs what actually appears on your natural listing). Why do I do this? Because a high natural listing on the search engines is an incredibly powerful and a valuable bit of space to own, so make best use of it – work that space with a punchy title that gets attention.
Effective search engine optimization begins with the structure of your website. Standards compliant and carefully arranged HTML provides the basis for effective search engine optimization.
We provide a search engine optimization (SEO) profile for every website we build.
- Keyword analysis: a list of targeted keywords for the website, with search statistics when available, that is then used in copy, page titles, alt tags and meta data to optimize for search engines.
- Search engine ranking data: If you currently have a website, we’ll provide current search engine ranking statistics. This allows us to track the new website’s SEO progress.
- Traffic goals: a list of current website traffic statistics (current state assessment), with best practice recommendations for creating and assessing traffic goals.
- Competitor analysis: an assessment of your major keyword competitors.
- Demographic assessment: an analysis of your current market with potential targeted marketing venues.
- Backlink survey: a list of potential sources for industry-specific inbound links to the website, sorted by type (e.g. free, reputable directory websites, professional organizations).
- Overall growth strategy: an assessment of best practices and strategies to ensure continued traffic growth.
We use the SEO profile to guide website copy and structure and to market your website after it launches. You also have the option of implementing the profile’s strategies yourself.
